Firefox: Remove Search Bars / Toolbars

Firefox: Uninstall Browser Toolbars

Some browser search toolbars may include spyware that could "hijack" your browser and cause login problems to web applications such as online course systems.

If you suspect a browser toolbar may be causing you problems, remove the toolbar and try logging in again after restarting your computer.

To remove unwanted toolbars, please do the following:

Step 1. Click the Tools menu and select Add-ons.

Tip: If you are unable to locate the Tools or other menus, right click at the top of your screen and select Menu Bar to display the menu bar.

Step 2. Click the Extensions tab.

Step 3. Click on the Add-on you wish to edit, and choose the appropriate option:

• To turn a toolbar/add-on OFF:
  Click the Disable button
• To uninstall a toolbar/add-on:
  Click the Remove or Uninstall button
