What does the "Duplicate Course" function do?

The "duplicate course" function is a time-saving tool that will copy your Course, associated Section(s), and assignments to a new Course and Section(s) to use for an upcoming term. When using this function, you will have the opportunity to create a new name for the Course and Section(s); otherwise, Connect will name the new Course and Section(s) "Copy of <Course Name>" and "Copy of <Section Name(s)".

The new course that is created will be identical to the original course, except no student data will be copied over to the new Course and Section(s). This feature will save you a lot of time when preparing for your next term, eliminating the need to recreate all of your assignments.

Notes:

  • You will need to provide the new URL(s) to your next term students so they can register in the new section(s) you created.
  • If you decide to delete a Course or Section from a previous term, we strongly recommend exporting your students' grades into an Excel spreadsheet just in case you need this information for any reason after the class has ended. The export to excel option is available in the assignment results report.
